About pedalr

What is pedalr?

pedalr is a better marketplace for people who love bikes. It is a virtual marketplace for individuals, bike builders, manufacturers, and shops to sell their new and used bikes, gear, accessories, and really anything cycling related in a common marketplace. pedalr provides persistent listings and profiles for individuals, shops and manufacturers to list who they are, and what they have for sale online, for free. Shoppers can: browse listings, seller profiles, comment and ask questions about items for sale.

How it works

The pedalr platform allows users to post listings of of items they have for sale and add a profile so shoppers can learn a bit about who you are. Creating an account and listing items you have for sale is completely free, pedalr makes a small commission (5% of the cost any sold item) for each item that you sell through the platform when it sells. Our goal is to create a community of bike-minded people that makes selling online easier, more trustworthy and more profitable so you can be riding instead of tapping on your computer.

pedalr rules

There are only a few rules for using pedalr and they are:

  1. You can list anything you want for sale as long as it's bicycling or bike culture related
  2. No junk - we don't know what junk is, but we know it when we see it. And nothing stolen - zero exceptions here
  3. Be respectful. pedalr is about bicycles and the bicycling community; we are all about being cool to each other, but that doesn't mean you can't have a little fun
  4. We have tried to keep the features of the site to a minimum, if something is missing or broken... speak up!

SinkfordBilly (co-founder)
From bike messenger to industry outsider Billy brings the grit and grime from his past to Pedalr as well as his wealth of industry knowledge. Comfortable playing in the dirt or on a double century his life has been about the bike for over 10 years. Billy’s previous experience in the cycling industry includes several years at Chrome Bags doing marketing and social media. In addition to Pedalr, Billy also does freelance work for Mission Workshop, DRZ Shoes and several other companies in the urban cycling market. Billy is responsible for the marketing, creative vision, social media and seller outreach for Pedalr. When not working or on his bike, Billy can be found giggling with his wife and young son.

TombRobert (co-founder)
Robert manages the code behind the pedalr platform. He is an avid Twin Cities cyclist and software development professional. He was drawn into a software development career in the mid 1990s when he saw the power of web-based technologies as an effective delivery vehicle for software documentation. It was about this time that his first child was born, and he had to make a choice between two time-consuming hobbies: cycling and golf. Seeing no way to “golf his way to work,” he chose cycling and has been a year-round cyclecommuter, some-time racer, and an accused bike hoarder--though he would prefer the term collector--ever since.

ParkinJoe (advisor)
Joe Parkin is a well-rounded veteran of the bicycle industry. Parkin left the United States at age 19 to pursue a career as a professional cyclist in Europe – a career that spanned more than a decade. After retiring from the sport, he helped launch the Castelli and Sportful cycling apparel brands, and the Enervit nutritional brand in North America. Parkin left the bicycle industry in 2005 to work in professional motors-ports. During this hiatus, he wrote A Dog in a Hat, a highly acclaimed memoir about his European cycling career. Currently, Parkin is finishing his second book, Come & Gone, and is a freelance cycling journalist. Joe is driving the vision of pedalr from a former racer and industry perspective.

OberprillerGene (advisor)
Gene is also a veteran of the bicycle industry with a lifetime of experience as a professional bike racer, bike courier, cycling industry marketing guru and One on One Bicycle studio brand and bike shop owner. Gene is the guy who is driving the community angle at pedalr. His involvement in pedalr.com is part of his life effort to push the bicycle lifestyle culture locally, nationally and across the world.
